Mini's | U6 - U9's

Minis Rugby at the Coogee Seahorses is a fun and safe introduction to the game, designed to help young players develop the basic skills of rugby while building confidence, friendships and a love for being part of a team.

At this level the focus is on participation, enjoyment and learning. Sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play are strongly encouraged, with minimal emphasis on competition.

Minis Rugby is also a great opportunity for girls to get involved. Speed, agility and evasion are key skills at this age, making rugby an ideal sport for girls as well as boys. Rugby Australia continues to actively support and grow girls rugby, and we warmly encourage all girls to come and play at Coogee Seahorses.

U6 - U7

Under 6’s and 7’s is non-contact 'tag' rugby (no tackling), and aimed at improving coordination, confidence, self-esteem and social skills - which improve immensely in a very short period of time.

This helps promote a good basis of health, fitness and motor skills for future years.

U8 - U9

The Under 8's and 9's age groups provide a safe introduction to contact, including further technical skills and understanding of set plays through modified ‘non-contested’ scrum and lineout situations.
