Mini's | U6 - U9's
Mini’s Rugby is a safe and enjoyable introduction to the skills and principles of the game of rugby.
Sportsmanship and fair play are positively encouraged, with minimal emphasis on competition.
Minis rugby is ideal for girls! Evasion is more important than 'brawn' at this level. Rugby Australia are actively encouraging girls rugby, particularly for the Sevens program and are on the lookout for talented youngsters.
All Mini’s (Under 6 to Under 9) games are played on Saturday mornings at Nagle Park, Maroubra (no games during school holidays).
Coogee Seahorses operate using the SJRU Pathways Laws.
U6 - U7
Under 6’s and 7’s is non-contact 'tag' rugby (no tackling), and aimed at improving coordination, confidence, self-esteem and social skills - which improve immensely in a very short period of time.
This helps promote a good basis of health, fitness and motor skills for future years.
U8 - U9
The Under 8's and 9's age groups provide a safe introduction to contact, including further technical skills and understanding of set plays through modified ‘non-contested’ scrum and lineout situations.
